The Internet History Calendar

HyperCard Cydia iOS app RAZR phone

The Internet History Calendar is a love letter.

For each day of 2025, we've selected a fun or interesting moment that occurred on that day in Internet history.

It's a celebration of decades of groundbreaking innovations, dramatic sagas, catastrophic flops, and hilarious memes.

The calendar can be enjoyed two ways:

  1. The free Chrome extension. When you open a new tab, you'll see that day's card. It costs zero, and collects zero data.
  2. The beautiful tear-away calendar. Looks great on your desk. Perfect holiday gift. Costs $19.69, because that's about what it cost us, and 1969 is the year the internet turned on.

Some days of the year have held lots of huge events, while others have been quieter. It was an impossible task to narrow these down. But we spent a lot of time doing it, and we're proud of the result.

Maybe you're a nostalgic OG who can relive these moments going back decades. Maybe you're a Gen Alpha hacker who never knew a pre-ChatGPT world. Whoever you are, if you like the Internet we think you'll enjoy the Internet History Calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who made this?

The team at Howie.ai, in partnership with Matthew Guay and Lawrence Lander.

Why did you make this?

For fun. We made it for our customers as a holiday gift and decided to make it more widely available too.

What is Howie.ai?

An email-based AI scheduling and productivity assistant. We have a waitlist, you can sign up here.

How much does the Internet History Calendar cost?

The Chrome extension is free, and the physical calendar costs $19.69.

Is my data collected?

No, neither the Chrome extension nor the physical calendar collects any data.

Why didn't you include _____ in the calendar? Why did you include _____?

Because we made it and we chose what we chose. Could you do better? Great, make your own damn calendar (and mail us a copy).

Can I give this as a gift?

Yes!

Are you making money on this?

We paid $16.69 per calendar, and our fulfillment fee is $2.85 per unit. So we expect to make about $0.14 per calendar that is purchased, and we printed 500 of them. But we gave a lot of them away to our customers, and we spent a bunch of time on the content.

So, this effort is unlikely to yield a profit, but it sure was fun. Merry Christmas.
